ICF Homes and Light Commercial Structures
Stack-It Wall Systems builds ICF homes and light commercial structures from the foundation to the roof throughout Calgary and the surrounding areas, continuing to build right through the winter. We are also involved in numerous projects that feature hybrid combinations of ICF and wood-frame construction every year.
ICF Foundations
Homes built with conventional concrete foundations lose an estimated 30-40% of total heat in the winter through the foundation walls. A concrete wall in direct contact with frozen earth literally pulls the cold from the ground right into your home. That's why more and more of Calgary's homebuilders are turning to ICF for the construction of warm, comfortable, energy efficient basements.
ICF Party Walls
A monolithic concrete core sandwiched between two thick layers of foam insulation creates an extremely effective sound barrier, dampening sound vibrations and providing a quiet indoor environment. STC ratings typically range from 45 to 60, making ICF construction an excellent choice when designing party walls for buildings that demand good sound abatement, such as condos, duplexes and town homes.
Fortruss® Insulated Concrete Slabs
The Fortruss® insulated concrete slab system provides superior strength, quality, safety and value when compared to conventional floor and roof truss systems. Ideal for use in both residential and commercial construction, Fortruss® incorporates the strength and durability of concrete, the high performance insulating value of EPS rigid insulation and the added structure and flexibility of metal cladding.

Concrete Footings
Experienced developers know that a quality footing will save them time, headaches and money down the road. Some builders even build their own footings, knowing that the extra TLC that goes into the footing construction will pay for itself as the rest of the house is built and occupied.
Because ICF construction requires perfect footings, Stack-It Wall Systems does not subcontract this work out to cribbers. We take the time to install this critical component ourselves, to make sure that we're building on a footing that is square, level and plum every time.
