The Stack-It Waterproofing Division Partners with American Company on Calgary's Western Light Rail Transit Expansion
Stack-It's waterproofing division, Seal-It Waterproofing, was recently awarded a partnership on a very important commercial contract for the city of Calgary. Partnering with the American company Epro Waterproofing Systems, Seal-It will be doing all of the below-grade waterproofing and gas-vapour protection for Calgary's West LRT expansion.
History in the Making
The largest infrastructure project in Calgary history, construction has recently gotten underway on a major expansion of Calgary's light-rail transit system. Six new stations will be added to 8 km of fresh new track, including Calgary's first underground station. The expansion will extend the light-rail transit system out to 69th Street SW, finally connecting south western Calgary to the rest of the city.
The south western arm of Calgary's light-rail transit system has been in the planning stages for over 25 years, with a great deal of research going into cost projections, impact to communities, and impact to the environment. It has the support of all levels of government, and will be open to commuters in 2012.
